After a lot of requests from users, the popular weather application, Transparent clock & weather is now available as a premium version. The premium version provides the save functionality as the regular version but without the ads. You can buy Transparent clock & weather Pro from the Google Play website.

TCW material weather icon pack (pack 2) just released

A new weather icons add-on pack for Transparent clock & weather has been released on Google Play. TCW material weather icon pack contains 8 material styled weather icon sets. You can now match the Transparent clock & weather widgets with any material wallpaper.

Note that in order to use any these icons sets you must have the Transparent clock & weather application installed on your device. To use any icon skin go to Transparent clock & weather settings, Appearance settings, Weather icons style. locate the desired skin and select it.

Transparent clock & weather version 0.85.11.03 released

TCW weather icon pack 1 update

TCW weather icon pack 1 has just been updated with one new weather icon skin, Mantra basic. Icon pack 1 now contains a total of 17 icon skins.

To use any of these skins simply install the TCW weather icon pack 1 from Google Play. If you have already installed the application, update it to obtain the new skin. To use any of the included weather icons skins on the Transparent clock & weather application go to settings > Appearance settings  > Weather icon skins and choose the desired skin (the skins from the TCW weather icon pack are found at the end of the list).

If you have any suggestions for different variations of any of the existing icon skins feel free to email us. Note that we are also planning to design realistic weather icons skins and release them in the future, probably in a new weather icon skin pack.

Change of developer name for the Droid27 applications

Dear users.

As some of you may have noticed, the developer name for our applications has changed from Droid27 to MACHAPP Software Ltd. The reason for this is that we have started a new company, MACHAPP Software Ltd that will take over the development and support of all our Android applications providing the same and even better quality of products and support.

This transition will be transparent to our users. The only thing that will be different will be the the developer name. We will continue to use the same support email address, Google communities (for beta testers), the same blog and Twitter accounts. We are also planning to have a website and a Facebook page soon.

TCW weather icon pack 1 released

The first weather icon pack for our Transparent clock & weather application has just been released. The TCW weather icon pack 1 is an add-on pack that adds support for more weather icon skins to the Transparent clock & weather application.

Simply download and install the add-on from Google Play and then choose your favorite weather icons from the Transparent clock & weather application (settings > Appearance settings > Weather icon skin).

The add-on already contains 15 new weather icon sets. We are planning to add even more icon sets and even create more add-ons in the future.

Transparent clock & weather version 0.84.65 is officially released

A major update of the Transparent clock & weather application has finally been released on Google Play. This update includes a lot of important new features, many bug fixes, support for new languages and optimizations. It also adds supports for some several small and medium resolution screens that had problems with the weather forecast page.

This version of the application also adds support for external weather icon skin support. TCW weather icon theme pack 1 has also been released and contains 7 new weather icon sets. We are planning to add more skins and create new theme packs in the future so send us your suggestions.

We are working hard to incorporate more weather servers into our weather applications. We have almost finished and we are currently performing tests. We will soon release a beta version of the Transparent clock and weather application on the TCW beta testers community. 3D sense has already been released on Google Play and includes one more weather server.

Weather server problems (Update)

The weather server related issues are almost resolved. At the moment, only OpenWeatherMap is working properly so we have removed the weather server selection option and released some updates that fix certain problems.

We are now working on adding support for more servers. Please make sure to update to the latest version as it should work for all of you. If you get a server error when refreshing the weather, try again later.

We are aware of the problems and we do our best to have a fully working version as soon as possible.

New updates being released

Some more problems were encountered due to a weather server overload, even after if we switched to a different server. We have fixed a few bugs and added one more weather server to our applications and we are scheduling to release updates soon. Once you get the new updates, check under Weather & location settings > Weather provider and use the server that is more accurate (or working) for you.

We will try to resolve all server problems as soon as possible.

Note that even though there were some changes in the current weather conditions page, you can still bring back the old layout from settings, Weather & location settings, Use new forecast layout (un-check this option). Weather provider issues have been resolved

As we said earlier, the 'Server error' that started appearing since yesterday was caused by a problem with the weather server. We have finally introduced an additional weather server in all our weather applications and already released updates for all. You should be getting the new updates withing the next 1 or 2 hours.

From now on, the new weather provider will be used by default. The previous one should start working soon - we have left it as an option under Weather & location settings (the option is called Weather provider) (the old weather provider is the Default option). If you would like to switch back to the old server you may do so but we will be removing this option in a future update and probably provide another choice.

Please let us know if there are any more problems. Also, have in mind that even though we have performed a lot of tests with the new weather server, there could still be a few bugs that we have not discovered. In such a case, please email us with details the problem.

Weather server issues (again!)

Dear users.

It looks like the weather server is having problems again. If you are receiving a 'Server error' message when trying to refresh the weather, this is because of the weather provider. As we mentioned some time ago, we have implemented alternative weather providers into all of our weather applications. We have tested until today and it looks like everything is ready for an official release. We will therefore release an update for all our applications, hopefully later on today, that should take care of the weather server problem for ever.
