Weather server issues (again!)

Dear users.

It looks like the weather server is having problems again. If you are receiving a 'Server error' message when trying to refresh the weather, this is because of the weather provider. As we mentioned some time ago, we have implemented alternative weather providers into all of our weather applications. We have tested until today and it looks like everything is ready for an official release. We will therefore release an update for all our applications, hopefully later on today, that should take care of the weather server problem for ever.

Please note!
If you know any people using the applciation, please inform them about this. If you can post on a blog, forum, community or on Google Play (as a comment about the application), please do so. We really need ytour help.

Thank you for all the support.

  1. The error was not created by the update - it is caused by the weather server. We have already started releasing updates with a new weather server. Please be patient and you will soon receive an update that fixes the problem. Thank you for understanding.

  2. Thanks for providing this info - yesterday I had strange failures in a few apps, and wondered if some more basic service software had a bad update. One-by-one it seems to have been just an unlucky coincidence - the individual apps are to blame, not something in common. Looking forward to seeing my Sense Flip in all its glory.

    1. We have released another update with a few bug fixes and support of a new weather provider. The old weather server is also working now so check again - use the server that is better for you. We are working hard to bring the application back to being stable again. Thank you for understanding.

  6. As to me, I have updated Sense flip clock & weather on March 8 or 9 before updating again after I had landed here following a Google search and read the comments.

First, which of the two providers (Open weather map & World weather) does "Default" refer to? Or does it refer to another unnamed provider?

Second, the app reports version 0.87.17 whereas the Play Store page says the most recent version is 0.63.14. Which is right?

Last, instead of involving the user, maybe the app should try the different providers and stick with the one that works? I doubt a user will be hellbent on staying with an unresponsive weather provider. What do you think?

    1. Thanks for the feedback. To make sure you have the latest version of the application, visit the application's page on Google Play. If there is a new version, there should be an Update button.

Regarding the problems with the weather providers, they should have all been resolved by now. We have added a third weather provider (as of yesterday's update) that should give you another choice. It is up to the user to try the different providers and decide which one is best for him or her.

  7. This WAS a great widget! I have tried all suggestions I found via Google. Nothing has permanently fixed it. I have uninstalled it and will look for another application!

  8. I having an issue with your app. After numous updates (connection to the default server was out) over the last few day the issue of wrong display of high and low temperatures is reversed. The high is showing the low temperature and obviously same for the low in reverse. Not able to get this corrected. Seems a bit confusing. Any ideas?
I'm using Samsung Galaxy S5 with OS 5.0 on T-Mobile US.

    1. We have released several updates that fixed a lot of problems. Yesterday we released another one with support for another weather provider and a few more bug fixes. All our weather applications should be bug free by now so please make sure to download the latest update.

  10. Suggestion: Often I am finding that the weather server that I am connected to has "server error" ,and does not update with current information. I then switch to the other server and it usually updates with current information. Could you add an option, on the main page, to easly select the opther server without going thru the setting section? What do you think?

    1. Thanks for the suggestion Alan. We can add this option in the future, although, the server error problem should not be happening now. Please let me know if you still get the error.

  11. in athens greece the weather forecast is different at different devices, different providers at the same network but different devices,is there any reason that different devices are updated from different providers?this causes different weather news

    1. Different weather providers will report a different weather forecast. There are many reasons for this, but the most important one is that each provider has its own weather prediction algorithms (or way of predicting the weather), hence the different forecast. The reasons why different devices display different weather forecast is probably because they are using different applications (which in turn use different weather providers).
