LG G4 widget problems after Android update to Marshmallow (version 6)

If you have an LG G4 and experience problems with widgets not updating after the recent update to Android version 6 (Marshmallow), please follow the steps below to wipe the cache and correct the problem.

Please note: This operation will clear all cached data for all applications
  1. From the home screen select the Apps icon
  2. Tap Settings, General
  3. Scroll down until you find the Storage option and tap it
  4. Find the Cached Data option and tap on it
  5. Confirm the operation by tapping the OK button
  6. Reboot your device
